Sarah Showan MSc, MCSP

Sarah  joined Witney Physiotherapy Centre in January 2007. She qualified as a physiotherapist in 1993 graduating with a BSc (Hons) from Kings College London  After working in the NHS for two and a half years, she then completed a Masters degree in Neuromusculoskeletal  Physiotherapy at University College London where she gained Distinctions in all clinical and three academic modules. Completion of her Masters gave her membership to The Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). She has since worked in private practice except for a recent sabbatical whilst living in the USA.

Sarah lives with her husband and two daughters and has been living in Witney since 2005. She enjoys running, swimming, gym work and yoga.

Professionally she enjoys treating sacroiliac joint dysfunctions, biomechanical foot issues and sports injuries in general. She is also passionate about Pilates and has experience in Clinical Pilates,  which she uses in her rehabilitation of clients with musculoskeletal pains resulting from muscle imbalances, both to treat current problems and prevent recurrences. She also practices Pilates herself to maintain good posture and wellbeing.

Her treatments involve predominantly manual therapies including: soft tissue release work,  muscle energy techniques, joint mobilizations and manipulations, and Clinical Pilates

She is a member of the following profession associations: Health professions Council (HPC), Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (OCPPP), and Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).
